Jamaa el Fnaa at night will blow your mind.

My dear friends, let me tell you why I've decided to write this blog about Marrakech. You see, I've traveled far and wide over the years, and I've had the good fortune to visit many amazing places. But Marrakech, well, Marrakech is a city that has truly captured my heart.

Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a newcomer to the world of adventure, I hope that this blog will inspire you to explore Marrakech for yourself.

You see, Marrakech is a city that has something for everyone. It's a place where you can wander through ancient medinas, explore bustling souks, and relax in tranquil gardens. It's a place where you can sample the flavors of Morocco, admire the intricate architecture, and experience the unique culture of this amazing country.

In short, Marrakech is a city that's full of life and energy, and I want to share that with you. So sit back, grab a cup of tea, and let me take you on a virtual tour of one of the most incredible cities on the planet. I promise you won't be disappointed.

As a traveler and lover of all things new and interesting, I was eager to spend a day exploring this historic city and discovering what it had to offer.

There’s something interesting to see around every corner.

I started my day at the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, the heart of Marrakech. The square is a hub of activity, with street vendors selling everything from spices and textiles to fresh orange juice and live animals. I was struck by the sounds, sights, and smells of the square, which was unlike anything I had experienced before. You can also see some quite unsavory sights as well. Like the snake charmers and pet monkeys on dog leads, whose only purpose in life seems to entail removing as many Dirhams from tourist’s pockets as possible.

Allow yourself to get lost in the narrow streets of the medina and discover another world full of amazing smells and colours.

As I made my way through the souks, I was amazed by the intricate mosaics and vibrant riads that dotted the streets. The souks are a shopper's paradise, with vendors selling everything from spices to textiles to trinkets. I was particularly drawn to the spices, and I spent a good hour haggling with the vendors and sampling the different blends and aromas.

After a quick bite to eat at one of the street food stalls, I decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech. Built-in 1147, it is the tallest building in the Medina, a useful landmark to look out for if you get lost. The mosque was a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city, and I was struck by its beauty and serenity.

The mosque can be seen from almost anywhere in the city.

Next, I visited the Saadian Tombs, a royal necropolis and the final resting place of the Saadian dynasty. The tombs were a fascinating glimpse into the history of Morocco, and I was struck by the intricate carvings and the sense of peace that pervaded the site.

After a busy day of exploring, I ended my day at the Jardin Majorelle, a stunning garden filled with cacti, palm trees, and vibrant bougainvillea. The garden was a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, and I was struck by its beauty and serenity.

Great place to chill with nothing to disturb you but birds singing.

As the sun set on my day in Marrakech, I was struck by the sheer beauty and vibrancy of this city. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, a day in Marrakech is sure to be an unforgettable experience. From its bustling souks to its stunning architecture, this city is a true feast for the senses, and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone who loves to explore and discover new places.

In conclusion, Marrakech is a city that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. It’s a destination that should be on everyone’s bucket list and it will not disappoint.
